Letter from The Groom
Every beautiful love story has a beginning, and ours started in January 2021.
Jummy and I were introduced by my friend’s wife, Bukunmi, who knew Jummy through her work as a hairstylist which was her side gig at the time. At the time, neither of us knew that what began as a simple introduction would become the foundation of a lifetime together.
After we were introduced, we spent several weeks getting to know each other through phone calls and messages. The more we talked, the more I looked forward to our conversations. Then, on 12th of February 2021, while I was in Houston for a work trip, we met in person for the very first time. Jummy was living in Houston, while I was based in Dallas, Texas.
Meeting Jummy confirmed what I had already begun to feel during our conversations. There was something special about her, and after that first meeting, I couldn’t wait to see her again. I soon returned to Houston to see her again and she also made trips to Dallas so we could continue getting to know each other. Despite the distance between our cities, every visit brought us closer together.
As our relationship grew, we realized we had found something worth building. We decided to make our relationship official, and I asked Jummy to be my girlfriend. To my joy, she said yes.
Over the months that followed, our bond became even stronger. I saw in Jummy the qualities I had always hoped to find in a life partner—her kindness, strength, love, and unwavering support. It became clear to me that she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
On December 18, 2021, I asked Jummy the most important question of my life. I proposed to her, and she happily accepted, agreeing to become my wife.
Our journey continued as we celebrated our civil wedding on February 24, 2024, surrounded by love and gratitude for the path that had brought us together.
Today, we are blessed with three wonderful children who bring immeasurable joy to our lives. Looking back, we are grateful that one introduction in January 2021 blossomed into a loving marriage and a beautiful family. We look forward to many more years of growing together, supporting one another, and creating cherished memories as husband and wife.
Our story is a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful journeys begin with a simple introduction, and by God’s grace, ours became a lifelong love story.

How I Met The Groom
McKay and I became friends simply because we grew up in the same neighborhood. We've known each other since 2003 right after graduating from high school and from the beginning, we spent our late teens together.We played football,games ,celebrated birthdays, and looked out for each other . We literally saw each other living all our first ever experiences as we grew up. Even after all these years, I'm grateful that a neighborhood friendship turned into a lifelong brotherhood.

How I Met The Groom
I first met McKay aka Mukooli in 2011 at Compton in the University of Ibadan when I was visiting another one of the groomsmen, Arewa. It was a brief meeting, but even then, he came across as a genuinely cool and grounded guy. We reconnected in 2019, and since then, our friendship has grown. Over the years, I’ve come to know him as an amazing person. Loyal, thoughtful, and the kind of friend you can always count on. It’s been a privilege watching his journey and being part of this chapter of his life.

I met Mckay in 2006 at the University of Ibadan, where we lived as next-door neighbors on the same block on Amina Way for over three years. Some of my best memories were made during those unforgettable years at Compton. Over the past 20 years, Kayode has stayed through to himself; he has remained humble, dependable & easy to get along with. He has been a steadfast and reliable friend and I genuinely wish him continued success, good health, marital bliss & a lifetime of happiness with his family.

I have heard a lot about McKay even before I met him. I finally met McKay through Tunde Akinpelu. I didn't even know his name was Kayode. I called him McKay for so long till I found out his real name is Kayode. From the first day I was introduced to him I liked his vibe, so whenever he calls/txt that we should go have a beer or two, it was an easy yes for me. McKay is a sure guy, dependable and correct guy to hang out with. I'm not surprised he's also a good husband and dad. He's one of the very few good guys left out here. Happy Married Life my G!

Known him since Christ Life Church back in Ibadan, coincidentally bumped into him in Dallas and was fortunate enough to welcome him into my space till he got his footing. Throughout the time we were flat mates, I got to know Kayode more and I can now call him a brother. A very honest soul who is ready to help whenever asked.
